While on an extended visit to Vietnam of over two months. With assistance from her truly wonderful friend Sam, I had the privilege to photograph an enchanting women called Han. Both arrived on a gorgeous Scooter from Da Nang to Hoi An in Central Vietnam where I was based at the time.
Sam assisted with an improvised reflector (white bath towel) on shoot one, then delighted me by bringing a pop-up reflector on shoot two. Having forgotten mine!
Much is spoken about the multitude of compositional components in photography, but the emotional values within an image can often surpass formulas of material arrangements.
Both were gracious, polite and very kind natured. Throughout the shoot Han projected an aura of Asian beauty with a soothing calm, combined with sublime poise. A feeling that is itself a compositional element. Even the gesture of her hands is elegance.
Thank you both so much. You were amongst those who made my visit to Vietnam so enriching and memorable.
