Rolling Waves against a Cornish Pier.

These waves are moderate for a North Cornish coast gale. Moderate but mesmerising and beautiful, nonetheless.

The onshore wind and airborne mist brought with it a salty residue that coated itself onto my neutral density (ND) filter.  This is potentially hazardous because fine airborne sand can also stick to that residue, creating a high risk of scratching when wiping it away.

My advice is to run some fresh water over the filter before drying it carefully with tissue and then cleaning it. On this occasion, however, I allowed it to build up to experiment with its diffusing effect.
