Developing a habit of always having a camera and tripod to hand is one most will agree can access opportunities otherwise missed.
While not always practical, I do try to carry both on regular walks even though I quite infrequently use them. This is due to me being markedly particular about subject matter.
A trait I am working on improving.
My casual walk on a Cornish beach this day was threatened with heavy rain, but that never deters me. This image captures some heavy rain just as it touches down on the horizon. At sea level and an eye height of around 5ft, that is less than three miles away.
Traveling towards the shore at 30 mph (weather app), this only gave me around five minutes. That was long enough though to set the tripod and camera to capture this plus other images.
