Shooting portraits in woodlands comes with its own unique yet fascinating challenges. The light often applies its primary quality and direction in a less than usual pattern. The colour of the light (known as colour temperature) is also tempered towards the bluer and greener hues. Not a problem if shooting in monochrome.
The lighting can vary enormously throughout the day so I would suggest multiple visits before scheduling your shoot to establish the most agreeable times.
Once mastered, woodland are amongst the most rewarding of environments for many genres of portraiture.
