I seized an opportunity at the kind invitation of my dear friend Ruben while on a coastal portrait shoot, set out primarily for him.
The stormy conditions created a beautiful fusion of atmospheric tension and romance.
Alina approached the shoot with a usual willingness to succeed, even in challenging conditions. On this day, the cold of January, high winds, and sporadic showers.
With those challenges embraced and turned to advantage. Alina’s aesthetic beauty added the final component as we created a wildness of romantically charged images.
A model’s comfort and endurance should always be considered. Underneath Alina’s coat was an electrically heated jacket, keeping her core temperature warm.
We operated close to areas of shelter to enable a quick dash when a shower threatened.
It is rare for me to work off a tripod for various reasons. On this occasion, I did. Whilst I enjoyed the relative freedom, my compositions did drift off mark a few times. That aspect is mostly important when critical alignments are required.
