I was lucky to discover that Cody, a former model for my portrait courses, was in Cornwall on a brief visit.
This was my first outing with an Elinchrom Three. The light was modified with a 1m strip light (elongated soft box), which is one of my go-to accessories. As part of the Rotalux series, this soft box rotates to enable multiple lighting effects.
Combining flash with available light is a very functional skill to have. Here the flash is blending and complementing the existing light, not overpowering it. Natural light in woodlands is notoriously difficult for portraiture, often leading to unflattering results.
This is a relatively simple but pleasing image.
