Kiah was extraordinary as the model for this demonstration in high-key lighting.
High-key is referred to as an image that consists of tones that are overall brighter than grey.
Shooting white against white requires a good to advanced lighting discipline to retain a rim, separation and dimensionality. It would be very easy to layer the applied frontal light with the returning (bounced) background layer. This would result in a localised loss of detail.
Perfect high-key with its idiosyncrasies can be tricky to master at first but it’s very learnable and a gorgeous style that I absolutely love.
