It would have been easy to become disheartened while driving towards this Cornish coast location due to the densely overcast conditions.
The sky showed no sign of relief whatsoever from an extensive blanket of grey that cloaked the entire coastal landscape. We pressed on regardless embracing the view that photography isn’t all about successful images and that the physical experience of just being in an enchanted location, is also a wonderful reward.
Once on location the sky looked just as ominous and unrelenting, but we decided to clamber down into the cove with our cameras despite our diminishing hope of anything worthy of photography.
Thirty minutes later to our absolute delight, a gap emerged in the dense cloud cover that allowed a most beautiful light to stream through. Creating atmosphere, dimension, contrast and drama.
Two very happy photographers climbed out of the cove that evening feeling thankful that despite it looking hopeless, we persisted and captured.
